Be Your Own Boss in Media Cube
Today, Minister for Enterprise, Trade, and Employment Micheal Martin TD opened the new Media Cube at Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology. The Media Cube is a state-of-the-art business incubation facility specifically focussed on the Digital Media sector opened. The Media Cube is looking to attract people who have either well thought-out concepts for businesses and are ready to work to develop these concepts or already established businesses that are seeking the skills needed to take them to the next stage of development.
Built with funding from Enterprise Ireland under the National Development Plan, the Media Cube's goal is to provide an environment for the growth and development of new ideas and to create opportunities for the application and further evolution of those ideas.
Media Cube will provide:
- A suitable environment for the development of enterprises in the digital media area
- Access to the knowledge, equipment and facilities of IADT
- Reduced rental rates
- Superior levels of client enterprise service
- Mentoring and specially designed training programmes
- Possible grant funding linked to training programme participation
Type of Space Available
Two general types of space are available depending on the stage of development of the business or proposed business. The first of these is an embryo or hotdesk room. This will offer a desk and chair and broadband access in a common work area. Users will use these desks at the very early start-up stage when working on the feasibility of their business ideas. They will benefit from a range of supports, from business expertise to specific digital media expertise and also access to the specialist equipment within the Centre.
The second type of space is rentable units which range in size from 14sqm to 35sqm. These are for more established businesses and can typically accommodate numbers of between one and six people.
