IADT Graduate appointed Chair of Directors Guild >>

IADT graduate, CIARAN DONNELLY, has been appointed the new Chair of the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland. Ciaran will drive SDGI strategy, which seeks to improve the status of screen directors in Ireland through promoting their creative and economic rights as well as the cultural value of their work.Ciaran is known primarily for directing television dramas such as STARDUST; PROOF; the BAFTA-winning COLD FEET; and most recently THE TUDORS, for US cable channel, Showtime. He graduated from IADT (then the Dun Laoghaire College of Art & Design) in 1995.
Ciraran said: “I am honoured to be the new Chairman of SDGI. The cause of the Irish screen director in Irish culture is close to my heart. In the last five years the Guild has firmly established the rights and entitlements of directors on the cultural agenda, we now need to double our efforts to capitalise on this progress”.
