Progression Rules
Progression Rules
IADT has produced a GPA Calculator to assist students in calculating their overall GPA for summer exam sessions. This calculator is in the form of a MS Excel Spread sheet and has important information contained in the README section.
A summary of the changes is also outlined below.
Please note this GPA Calculator is applicable to your summer exams grades only. It is intended as a tool to help you understand the progression and compensation rules.
Should you have any questions about this please contact one of the following:
- Your lecturer
- The student union
- Your student representative
- Your programme coordinator
- School administrator or
- The Examination Office
Information on credit values for each module is available from your programme handbook or your lecturer.
Summary of Progression Rules
TO PROGRESS TO THE NEXT YEAR OF STUDY OR GRADUATE YOU MUST ACHIEVE:
A Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.00 and 60 credits
In the summer, if you have a GPA of 2.00, 60 credits and have D grades not in excess of 20 credits you may progress.
If you receive any F grades you must repeat all failed modules including any D grades and raise all these modules to C.
If you repeat, e.g. in the Autumn or the next academic year, and raise F grades to D grades, these D grades are not compensateable and you will not progress.
Please note this GPA Calculator is applicable to your summer exam grades only. It is intended as a tool to help you understand the new progression and compensation rules.
Should you have any questions about this please contact your lecturer, student union, class representative, programme coordinator, school administrator or the Examinations Office.
Information on credit values for each module is available from your programme handbook or your lecturer.
